The fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) officially opened in Beijing on 22 June 2026. The opening session featured remarks from South African Vice President Paul Mashatile, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO, and CITIC Group Chairman Xi Guohua. Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, Chief Executive Officer of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, read a congratulatory message from His Majesty King Charles III for the event. Approximately 1,300 representatives from government, business, academia, and international organisations across more than 100 countries and regions attended the opening session.

According to Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the fourth CISCE seeks to strengthen sustainable economic growth, enhance trade and investment ties, and promote international cooperation in the industrial and supply chain sectors. He explained that the expo presents new opportunities for companies from both China and other countries. Ren also reaffirmed CCPIT’s commitment to providing a comprehensive trade promotion platform and support services for global enterprises, with the aim of fostering closer industrial and supply chain partnerships and advancing a more open global economy.

A key agenda item during the opening session was the launch of the 4th CISCE Beijing Initiative by CCPIT and global business community leaders. CCPIT is organising the fourth CISCE under the theme ‘Connecting the World for a Shared Future’. Five international organisations are supporting the event: the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Australia is participating as the Guest Country of Honour, while France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Italy’s Liguria region serve as the first-ever International Guest Regions of Honour in the expo’s history. Domestically, Anhui Province and Hainan Province are the Domestic Guest Provinces of Honour. This year’s CISCE showcases six major supply chains: Digital Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Sustainable Agriculture, Healthy Living, Intelligent Vehicles, and Clean Energy, along with a dedicated exhibition area for Supply Chain Services. The expo features 676 leading companies, specialised and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, industry organisations, and various international organisations from 85 countries and regions.
