Four teenagers have been arrested by police in connection with the distribution of Class I narcotic drugs in the form of synthetic tobacco. The four suspects were apprehended at various locations.

“The suspects are allegedly involved in a synthetic tobacco trafficking network that frequently conducts transactions in border areas,” said Medan Satria Police Chief Kompol Rusit Malaka, on Friday (27 February 2026).

He explained that the operation to eradicate synthetic tobacco-type narcotics was conducted over two days by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Medan Satria Police Station, Metro Bekasi City Police. The arrests were led directly by Head of Criminal Investigation Iptu Jomson Limbong.

The operation began on Friday (20 February 2026) in Tapos, Depok City, West Java. Officers arrested suspect MRM (19) and recovered 193.8 grams of synthetic tobacco as evidence.

Officers then moved to the Cibinong area, Bogor Regency, West Java. Police arrested suspect FAR (19) with a total of 561.3 grams of synthetic tobacco as evidence.

The culmination came on Saturday (21 February) in the early morning, when the Criminal Investigation team arrested two more suspects, RF (19) and AD (19), in Jatiasih and Cibinong with 618 grams of synthetic tobacco seized.

“The total evidence we secured from these four suspects reaches more than 1.3 kilograms,” said Iptu Jomson.

The four youths, all averaging 19 years of age, are now being detained at Medan Satria Police Station. They face charges under Articles 114 and 112 of Indonesian Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
