Jakarta, Kompas.com – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has prepared four functional toll road sections on the Island of Java to support smooth traffic flow during the Lebaran holiday exodus and return period this year.

Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantono stated that all functional toll road sections have been inspected and confirmed ready for use during the Lebaran holiday period.

“We have four functional sections and we have conducted inspections to ensure readiness,” said Rivan during a press conference in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

These sections have been prepared to help alleviate traffic congestion that typically occurs in the Prambanan area. With access at Purwomartani, vehicles from Yogyakarta heading to Solo can directly enter the toll road without having to pass through the Prambanan intersection, which often causes congestion.

Supporting facilities have also been prepared on this section, including functional rest areas, traffic monitoring cameras, and modular petrol stations.

This approximately 6-kilometre functional toll road section is expected to help alleviate vehicle congestion that frequently occurs on the route from Bawen to Pasar Ambarawa Market. According to Rivan, with this section, vehicles can exit directly after the market area, making travel to Magelang, Temanggung, and surrounding areas smoother.

“Usually congestion occurs from Bawen to Ambarawa. With this section, vehicles can exit directly after Ambarawa,” he said.

This toll section has been prepared primarily to facilitate smooth return traffic from the Bandung direction via the Cipularang Toll Road. Rivan stated that the section will begin operations after 15 March 2026 to help alleviate congestion that typically occurs at the traffic intersection at kilometre 66.

“People heading to Cimanggis, Bogor, or Bekasi can use this section directly so they won’t meet at KM 66,” he said.

This functional toll road section spans approximately 49 to 50 kilometres from Probolinggo to Besuki in Situbondo Regency. A functional rest area with capacity for approximately 238 vehicles and portable toilet facilities have been prepared on this section to support the comfort of toll road users.

“We ensure that the public can utilise this toll road section during the Lebaran holiday period,” said Rivan.
