Jakarta, VIVA – The TNI Military Police Command (Puspom TNI) has detained four TNI soldiers suspected of the sulphuric acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS).

In addition, the four soldiers have undergone examination regarding the acid attack.

“Then, as a follow-up to our investigation activities, the Puspom TNI will prepare a police report, possibly from the victim witness, and carry out temporary detention of the four suspects,” said TNI Military Police Chief Major General Yusri Nuryanto during a press conference on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

Yusri explained that they would also submit a request for a visum to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).

“Then we will immediately submit a request for Visum et Repertum, submitting the VER to RSCM,” he added.

The four suspected perpetrators of the acid attack will be detained at the Jakarta Military District Command (Pomdam Jaya).

“So now the suspects have been secured, we have conducted examinations at Puspom TNI. And for the detention location, we will carry out detention entrusted to Pomdam Jaya, where there is a Super Security Maximum detention facility, we will entrust them there,” Yusri concluded.

Previously reported, the police suspect that the perpetrators involved in the acid attack on KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus (27) numbered four people, using two motorcycles.

Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Direskrimum) Commissioner Pol Iman Imanuddin said that the perpetrators appeared calm in carrying out their action.

“For several days we conducted digital analysis, we saw that the perpetrators’ journey indeed had calmness in moving from one point to another leading up to the incident,” he said on Monday, 16 March 2026.

A joint team from the police apparatus managed to obtain at least 86 CCTV points now seized to analyse the perpetrators’ movements and uncover the acid attack case.

“The suspected perpetrators had been following the victim’s movements before the incident. The perpetrators’ movements from South Jakarta to the initial gathering point on Jalan Merdeka Timur or around in front of Gambir Station,” Iman stated.
