Four TNI Soldiers Suspected of Acid Attack on KontraS Activist Detained
The TNI Military Police Command (Puspom TNI) has detained four TNI members suspected of dousing KontraS activist Andrie Yunus with acid. Puspom TNI has also conducted examinations of the perpetrators.
“We are handling the police report filing, possibly from the victim witness. Then, we are carrying out temporary detention of the four suspects,” said TNI Deputy Chief of Military Police Major General Yusri Nuryanto during a press conference at TNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Puspom TNI will also submit a request for a medical examination to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). “We will submit a request for visum et repertum to RSCM,” he continued.
The suspects have now been secured and are undergoing examination. They will be detained at the Jaya Military District Command (Pomdam Jaya).
“The suspects have been secured and we have conducted examinations at Puspom TNI. For the detention location, we will carry out detention entrusted to Pomdam Jaya, where there is a super maximum security detention facility,” he stated.
The four perpetrators are initialled NDP, SL, BWH, and ES. Puspom TNI is conducting further probing.
“This now, the four suspected suspects have been secured at Puspom TNI for deepening to the investigation level,” said Yusri.
TNI is still investigating the motive behind the acid attack carried out by the perpetrators on Andrie Yunus. The perpetrators have been designated as suspects.
“The articles applied to the four suspected perpetrators, for now we are mapping Article 467 of the Criminal Code, there are paragraphs 1 and 2, where the penalties are already stipulated there, some are 4 years, 7 years,” explained Yusri.
