Four TNI Soldiers Suspected in Andrie Yunus Case Detained in Maximum Security Prison
The TNI has designated four TNI soldiers as suspects in the acid attack case. The four suspects are currently detained in a prison with extremely tight security.
“The four perpetrators have been designated as suspects and have undergone detention in the military detention facility (maximum security) of the Pomdam Jaya Guntur,” said TNI’s Head of Information, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, in a statement to reporters on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
The detention of the four suspects began on 18 March 2026. They are charged under the assault article.
“The article applied to the suspects is the assault article,” Aulia stated.
Metro Jaya Police previously revealed the latest developments in handling the acid attack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The police stated that the case has now been handed over to the TNI’s Military Police Centre (Puspom).
This was conveyed by the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, during a hearing with Commission III of the DPR. In the hearing, he outlined the investigation process conducted since the report was received.
“Thank you for the opportunity given to us, Leadership. Allow us to present the developments from the investigation results we conducted regarding a legal incident that occurred and affected Brother Andrie Yunus,” said Iman in the Commission III DPR meeting room, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3).
Iman then explained that his side immediately proceeded with the investigation after receiving the report. From the series of processes, the police found several facts that formed the basis for follow-up handling of the case.
“After we received the report, we then conducted an investigation. And from the results of that investigation, after we found facts from the investigation results,” he said.
Iman then reported that the case has been handed over to the TNI’s Puspom. The TNI previously stated the involvement of four suspected soldiers in the case. All four are members of TNI’s Bais.
