Four TNI Soldiers Named as Suspects in Acid Attack Case on Andrie Yunus
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has provided an update on the case involving the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. Four TNI soldiers, who have been secured, have now been officially named as suspects.
This development was announced by the TNI’s Public Information Service (Puspen) through a written statement received by detikcom on Tuesday (31/3/2026). One key update is that the four individuals have been designated as suspects in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.
“The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) provides an update on the investigation process into the alleged assault on Mr. AY. The four perpetrators have been named as suspects,” stated TNI Public Information Service Chief Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah in the received statement.
The four suspects have been charged under the assault provisions. “The article applied to the suspects is the assault provision,” Aulia continued.
Furthermore, the suspects are currently detained. They have been held at the Pomdam Jaya Guntur military detention facility since 18 March 2026.
“(The four suspects) have been undergoing detention at the military detention facility (maximum security) of Pomdam Jaya Guntur since 18 March 2026,” Aulia said.
Polda Metro Jaya had previously revealed the latest developments in handling the acid attack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The police stated that the case has now been handed over to the TNI’s Central Military Police (Puspom).
This was conveyed by the Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, during a hearing with Commission III of the DPR. In the hearing, he outlined the investigation process conducted since the report was received.
“Thank you for the opportunity given to us, Leadership. Allow us to present the developments from the investigation we have conducted regarding a legal incident that occurred and affected Brother Andrie Yunus,” Iman said in the Commission III DPR meeting room, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3).
Iman then explained that his side immediately proceeded with the investigation after receiving the report. From the series of processes, the police uncovered several facts that formed the basis for further handling of the case.
“After receiving the report, we then conducted an investigation. And from the results of that investigation, after we found facts from the investigation results,” he stated.
Iman then reported that the case has been handed over to Puspom TNI. The TNI had previously stated the involvement of four suspected soldiers in the case. All four are members of TNI’s Bais.
