Chairman of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI), Muhammad Isnur, believes there are efforts to accelerate the legal process against four TNI soldiers suspected of throwing acid on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS.

It is known that the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom) has handed over the case files of the four suspects to the Military Prosecutor’s Office, allowing the suspects to face trial soon.

“We see a very rapid acceleration effort by Puspom to bring the case to the Military Prosecutor’s Office,” Isnur said in front of the Constitutional Court building in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

In line with that, the Constitutional Court is also urged to promptly decide on the judicial review of the TNI Law, namely Law No. 3 of 2025.

“We request acceleration (of the decision) from the Constitutional Court because articles 65 and 74 are very much related to Andrie’s case,” Isnur stated.

“The Constitutional Court should decide that for general criminal cases, civil criminal cases committed by soldiers, by TNI members, should be tried in general courts,” he emphasised.

Previously reported, the TNI Information Centre Head (Kapuspen) Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah stated that Puspom TNI had transferred the four soldiers suspected of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus to the Military Prosecutor’s Office (Otmil) II-07 Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

“On this Tuesday, 7 April 2026, the case files, the suspects, and evidence of the criminal act of assaulting AY have been handed over from the Puspom TNI investigators to Otmil II-07 Jakarta,” Aulia said in a press release on Tuesday (8/4/2026).

After the handover, prosecutors from the Military Prosecutor’s Office (Otmil) II-07 Jakarta will examine the completeness of the case files, both in terms of formal and material requirements.

If all documents are deemed to meet the provisions, the case files will then be forwarded to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta for the trial process.

“The suspects handed over number four people with initials NDP, SL, BHW, ES along with evidence,” Aulia said.

The acid attack incident on Andrie Yunus occurred on Thursday night (12/3/2026).

KontraS Working Body Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya explained that the incident began after Andrie finished recording a podcast at the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation office in Menteng.
