Four TNI Soldiers Involved in Acid Attack on Andrie Yunus Named Suspects, Detained in Military Holding Facility
Jakarta, VIVA – The Head of the TNI Information Centre, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, stated that the Military Police have named four TNI personnel involved in the acid attack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus as suspects. The four suspects are members of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), namely Captain NDP, First Lieutenant SL, First Lieutenant BHW, and Second Sergeant ES. “The four perpetrators have been designated as suspects and are undergoing detention in the military holding facility,” said Aulia in an official press release received in Jakarta on Wednesday. The Head of Information continued that the four suspects have been detained since 18 March 2026 and remain under strict supervision by the Jayakarta Guntur Regional Military Police Command (Pomdam). To date, investigators from the TNI Military Police are still gathering statements by examining several witnesses. Aulia assured that the investigation process being conducted by the TNI Military Police investigators is proceeding smoothly and in accordance with applicable legal provisions. Previously, the TNI has taken firm action against those involved in the attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. As one form of accountability, TNI Headquarters stated that the position of BAIS Chief held by Lieutenant General TNI Yudi Abrimantyo has been relinquished, as a consequence of the investigation into the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. “So, we need to convey here, as a form of accountability, today the handover of the BAIS Chief position has been carried out,” said TNI Head of Information Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah during a press conference at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, 25 March 2026.
