Four TNI Soldiers in Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Face Verdict Today

The verdict hearing for the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus is being held today. Four Indonesian Army defendants will face the sentence. The agenda item reads ‘reading of the verdict,’ as seen on the Jakarta Military Court II-08 Case Tracking Information System. The trial will take place in the Garuda Courtroom, with the reading of the verdict scheduled for 9:00 AM Western Indonesia Time. Previously, military prosecutors demanded that the four Indonesian Army defendants in the acid attack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus be sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison. The prosecutors are convinced that the four defendants were proven guilty of carrying out the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. The sentencing hearing was held at the Jakarta Military Court II-08. The four defendants in this case are defendant I Second Sergeant Edi Sudarko, defendant II First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, defendant III Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetyo, and defendant IV First Lieutenant Sami Lakka. The prosecutors are convinced that the defendants were proven guilty of violating Article 467 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Paragraph (2) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023.
