Four TNI Members Involved in Acid Attack on KontraS Activist Detained
Four members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) involved in throwing acid on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus have been detained. The detention was carried out by the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom).
According to detikNews, the TNI Puspom Commander, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, stated that the four perpetrators are being held at the Jayakarta Regional Military Police (Pomdam Jaya). Puspom TNI has also conducted examinations of the perpetrators.
“The suspects have been secured, and we have carried out examinations at Puspom TNI. For the detention location, we will place them at Pomdam Jaya, where there is super maximum security detention,” said Yusri during a press conference at TNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
The four detained perpetrators are initialled NDP, SL, BWH, and ES. TNI is still investigating the motive behind the acid attack carried out by the perpetrators on Andrie Yunus. The perpetrators have been designated as suspects.
“The article applied to the four alleged perpetrators is currently Article 467 of the Criminal Code, paragraphs 1 and 2, where the penalties are stipulated there, including up to 4 years and 7 years,” explained Yusri.
