The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned four suspects for questioning in a corruption case related to community group grants (pokmas) in East Java Province for the 2019-2022 period. “The KPK has scheduled examinations for the suspects in the alleged corruption case concerning the management of grant funds for community groups from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

The suspects summoned are Moch. Mahrus alias M. Mahrus Ali, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD, and private individuals Achmad Yahya M., M. Fathullah, and RA. Wahid Ruslan. Budi stated that suspects Ahmad Yahya, M. Fathullah, and Wahid Ruslan were present for the examination at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building.

In this case, the KPK has named a total of 21 suspects. This development follows the case that previously ensnared former East Java DPRD Deputy Speaker Sahat Tua Simanjuntak. Four of the recipients are state officials, while the remaining 17 bribe givers include 15 private individuals and two state officials. One of the suspects, Kusnadi, a former East Java DPRD Chairman, has passed away, leading the KPK to halt the investigation against him. Consequently, the number of active suspects now stands at 20.

The list of bribe-giving suspects includes M. Mahrus Ali, a current East Java DPRD member; Fauzan Adima, Deputy Chairman of the Sampang Regency DPRD; Jon Junaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Probolinggo Regency DPRD; and several other private individuals from various regencies, including Hasanuddin, who is now a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD for the 2024-2029 period. The bribe recipients are Anwar Sadad and Achmad Iskandar, both Deputy Chairmen of the East Java DPRD, and Bagus Wahyudiono, a DPRD staff member.
