Four Soldiers Involved in Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Discovered After Missing Roll Call
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Military Prosecutor II-07 Jakarta has charged the involvement of four TNI Bais soldiers in the acid splashing incident against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The involvement was revealed after two defendants failed to attend the morning roll call.
This fact was stated by military prosecutor Mohamad Iswadi during the first trial of the Andrie Yunus case at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday (29/4/2026). The four defendants in this case are Sergeant Edi Sudarko (defendant I), Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi Cahyono (defendant II), Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya (defendant III), and Lieutenant Sami Lakka (defendant IV).
Sergeant Edi Sudarko was the perpetrator who splashed Andrie Yunus with acid on Thursday night (12/4/2026). Meanwhile, Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi Cahyono was tasked with driving the motorbike used in the operation.
Both fled immediately after carrying out the acid splashing against Andrie. During their escape, Sergeant Edi Sudarko and Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi Cahyono felt hot and stopped the motorbike. It turned out that both had been hit by the acid liquid.
“By the roadside, they bought two bottles of mineral water, then Defendant-1 and Defendant-2 washed the parts of their bodies affected by the chemical splashes,” said Iswadi during the trial.
After cleaning their bodies from the acid splashes, Sergeant Edi Sudarko and Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi Cahyono returned to the Mes Denma Bais TNI Kalibata in South Jakarta on Friday (13/3/2026) around 00.30 WIB. Upon arrival at the mess, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya and Lieutenant Sami Lakka had already arrived earlier.
“Upon arriving at the Mes Bais TNI, specifically in the room, Defendant-1 and Defendant-2 found Defendant-3 and Defendant-4 already there, then seeing the condition of Defendant-1 and Defendant-2 at that time, Defendant-3 and Defendant-4 immediately helped treat the wounds of Defendant-1 and Defendant-2,” said Iswadi.
Then, on Friday morning (13/3/2026) WIB, a roll call was to be held by Denma Bais TNI. That activity was only attended by Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya and Lieutenant Sami Lakka. Meanwhile, Sergeant Edi Sudarko and Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi did not join the roll call on the pretext of being ill.
“Around 07.00 WIB, Defendant-3 and Defendant-4 carried out the morning roll call at Denma Bais TI taken by the Dandenma Bais TNI, at that time Defendant-1 and Defendant-2 did not attend the morning roll call because they were sick,” said Iswadi.
After the roll call, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya and Lieutenant Sami Lakka carried out their duties as usual. After finishing duties, they always went to the room of their two colleagues who were ill to treat their wounds until 15 March 2026.
On 17 March 2026 around 09.00 WIB, after the flag-raising ceremony for the 17th, Major General Bosco instructed Colonel Inf Heri Heryadi (Witness-1/Dandenma Bais TNI) to conduct a personnel check. At that time, the witness-1 learned that Sergeant Edi Sudarko and Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi were ill and requested a check-up.
During the physical examination, Sergeant Edi Sudarko suffered wounds all over his face, the right eye slightly swollen and watery, burns on the right neck base, burns on the right chest area, and burns on the left arm. As for Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, he suffered burns from chemical liquid on the right arm.
