Four Soldiers Face Indictment Hearing in Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Case Today
Four defendants in this case are Defendant I, Sergeant First Class Edi Sudarko; Defendant II, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi; Defendant III, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetyo; and Defendant IV, First Lieutenant Sami Lakka. ‘Agenda for the indictment reading,’ as stated on the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, according to detikcom, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The trial will be held in the Garuda courtroom, with the reading of the indictment scheduled to commence at 09:00 WIB. Indictment Previously, the prosecutor charged four TNI soldiers with dousing activist KontraS Andrie Yunus with acid. The military prosecutor said the defendants carried out the act because they were upset with Andrie. The prosecutor said the defendants learned of Andrie on 16 March 2025 when Andrie entered and interrupted a meeting discussing revisions to the TNI Law held by the DPR at the Fairmont Hotel, South Jakarta. The defendants believed Andrie’s actions had insulted the TNI. ‘With that incident, the defendants consider Mr. Andrie Yunus has insulted the TNI, and even trampled on the TNI institution,’ the prosecutor said while reading the charging document. In short, the defendants sought information about Andrie Yunus’s activities. They divided duties when carrying out the acid attack. The prosecutor accuses the four soldiers of violating Article 469(1) subsidiarily with Article 468(1) and further subsidiarily with Article 467(1) in conjunction with Article 2 in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code.
