Four questioned in train crash

JAKARTA: Penjaringan police are questioning four persons about a train crash between a cargo train and an economy passenger train in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Sunday.

The four were identified as cargo train engineer Sutarno, assistant engineer Suhaidi and two passengers.

Suhaidi reportedly told police that he had informed the nearest gatekeeper that his train had broken down, but before anything could be done, the Jakarta-Rangkasbitung economy train traveling from Kota slammed into the cargo train.

"Four people were injured -- Muhamad Fahmi, Slamet, Syahroni and train driver Sutarno. The four are now receiving treatment at the Atma Jaya Hospital in North Jakarta," a police investigator said. --Antara
