Four Perpetrators in Bank Manager Ilham Kidnapping Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison
Four defendants in the kidnapping and murder case of bank manager M Ilham Pradipta have been sentenced to eight years in prison. The four defendants are Reviando Aquinas Handi, Andre Tomatala, Emanuel Wora Bertho, and Johanes Ronald Sebenan.
The verdict hearing was held at the East Jakarta District Court on Monday (20/7/2026). The judge stated they were proven to have acted as the perpetrators of Ilham’s kidnapping.
“Declares defendant I Reviando Aquinas Handi, defendant II Andre Tomatala, defendant III Emanuel Woda Bertho, and defendant IV Johanes Ronald Sebenan have been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing the crime of kidnapping,” said the chief judge while reading the verdict.
“Sentences the defendants therefore to imprisonment for 8 years each,” he continued.
The judge said the actions of the four defendants resulted in the victim’s death. This was an aggravating factor in their sentencing.
“Aggravating circumstances: the actions of the defendants resulted in the death of the victim Mohamad Ilham Pradipta, the actions of the defendants caused deep trauma to the victim’s family, the actions of the defendants caused public unrest,” he said.
A total of 18 defendants are being tried in the murder case of Ilham Pradipta, consisting of TNI military personnel and over a dozen civilian perpetrators. The three defendants from the TNI have been sentenced with the following details:
Sergeant Major Mochamad Nasir: 13 years in prison
Corporal Feri Herianto: 7 years in prison
Sergeant Major Frengky Yaru: 1 year in prison.
Meanwhile, the civilian defendants are being tried at the East Jakarta District Court. The defendants tried at the East Jakarta District Court are charged with premeditated murder against Ilham.

The murder was linked to an attempt by the defendants to steal money from dormant accounts. The amount of money targeted reached Rp 455 billion.
Prosecutors stated the defendants needed Ilham to facilitate the transfer of the money. Ilham was subsequently kidnapped and tortured to death.
