Four Pathways for 2026 Junior High School Admissions in Mataram City: Check the Requirements
Prospective students and parents in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, should prepare for the new academic year. There are four school registration pathways through the 2026 New Student Admission System (SPMB). The four pathways include the domicile pathway, the affirmation pathway, the achievement pathway, and the mutation pathway. Each pathway has different requirements and selection mechanisms. Therefore, prospective students and parents need to understand the provisions for each pathway so that the registration process can run smoothly.
- Domicile Pathway
This pathway is intended for new prospective students who are domiciled in the area surrounding the school. The student’s domicile is proven by a valid Family Card (KK). The Family Card must have been issued at least one year before the 2026 SPMB registration date. The opportunity to register at the target school is determined based on the zone or acceptance area that has been set by the committee. Prospective students are given the opportunity to choose a maximum of two schools according to the provisions applicable in the Domicile Pathway. The selection process is carried out by considering the distance from the place of residence to the school, the age of the prospective student, and the time sequence of document issuance or registration according to the applicable technical guidelines. Parents or guardians are required to follow the domicile coordinate point verification process at the state junior high school determined by the SPMB committee. If the prospective student does not pass in either of the two school choices through the Domicile Pathway, re-registration can only be done according to the mechanism and schedule set by the committee.
- Affirmation Pathway
This pathway is intended for prospective students from economically disadvantaged families and prospective students with disabilities at inclusive schools. Economic ability is proven by ownership of the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) or the Family Hope Programme (PKH) card. New prospective students with disabilities use a special needs/disability certificate from the competent authority. BPJS, KIS, SKTM or similar cards do not determine economic affirmation under the latest provisions. If applicants exceed the quota, the distance and age of the applicants will be considered.
- Achievement Pathway
This pathway is intended for prospective students who have academic, non-academic, or religious achievements. Assessment in this pathway is carried out based on proof of achievement and the provisions set out in the technical guidelines. In the Academic Achievement sub-pathway, selection is based on an accumulation of report card grades and the Academic Ability Test (TKA) according to applicable provisions. The report card grades used include Indonesian Language, Mathematics, and Science for grades IV to VI according to the specified period. If there are prospective students with the same final score, the higher TKA score will be the differentiating factor. If scores remain equal, the selection then considers the distance of domicile to the target school and the time of issuance of registration documents. Non-Academic Achievement is proven by official certificates or awards obtained from various competitions. For the Religious Achievement sub-pathway, prospective students must show evidence of ability or achievement in the religious field, such as certificates or specific skills like memorisation of holy scriptures.
- Mutation Pathway
This pathway is intended for prospective students who register due to parental work transfers or who are children of teachers. Applicants must have an official document in the form of a transfer of duty letter from an agency, institution, office, or company. The document is valid for a maximum of one year from the date of issuance. Children of teachers can register according to the school where their parents serve.
