Four pairings ready to run for regental posts

KUTAI KARTANEGARA, East Kalimantan: The Kutai Kartanegara General
Elections Commission (KPUD) has received the nomination papers of
four pairings set to run in the upcoming direct election of the
regent and deputy regent of the resource rich regency. The
registration of candidates closed no Monday and the KPUD will be
checking whether the candidates have satisfied all the
requirements until April 4.

The election will be held on June 1.

The four pairings of candidates running in the election are
Syaukani and Syamsuri Aspar, nominated by the Golkar Party, Aji
Sofyan Alex and Irkham, nominated by the National Mandate Party
and the Prosperous Justice Party, Tadjudin Noor and Abdul Djebar,
nominated by the United Development Party and the Independence
Party, and Syahrani and Elly Hartati, nominated by the Indonesian
Democratic Party of Struggle. -- JP
