JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has completed the construction of four embungs in Banyumas Regency, Central Java. The project forms part of the government’s assignment to strengthen national water and food resilience. The four completed embungs include Embung Kejawar, Embung Wangon, Embung Alasmalang, and Embung Kedunggede. This water resource infrastructure is now ready to be utilised to support the provision of raw water, agricultural irrigation, fisheries, and water reserves during the dry season. “We are committed to delivering infrastructure that is not only reliable in function but also provides added social and economic value for the community,” it stated in a written release on Friday (8/5/2026). Embung Kejawar has a storage capacity of 9,534 cubic metres. Meanwhile, Embung Wangon has a capacity of 12,701 cubic metres, Embung Alasmalang 25,200 cubic metres, and Embung Kedunggede 18,028 cubic metres. Embung Kejawar and Embung Wangon are equipped with facilities such as intake, outlet, guardhouse, toilet, and open areas that can be used by the community for various social activities. Through this project, Brantas Abipraya states that it will continue to support the government’s programme in building embungs in various regions of Indonesia to strengthen sustainable water and food resilience.
