Four Narcotics Smuggling Attempts at Soetta Airport During January-February 2026

Between January and February 2026, the Customs Office at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, working in collaboration with the police, dismantled four attempts at international narcotics smuggling. The operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects and the seizure of substantial quantities of illegal drugs.

The confiscated contraband comprised 5.494 kilograms of ketamine, 3.094 kilograms of methamphetamine (sabu), 1.066 kilograms of ecstasy, and 3.6 kilograms of etomidate.

The operations were announced at a press conference held at the Customs Office of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang City, Banten Province on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. The announcement was made by senior officials including Hengky Tomuan Parlindungan Aritonang, Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office; Kombes Pol Wisnu Wardhana, Commander of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police; Antonius Dwi Wianto, Head of Analysis and Narcotics Targeting at the Directorate of Narcotics Interdiction of the Customs and Excise Office; and Oka Setiawan, Deputy General Manager of Operations and Services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
