Four men rob surgeon

JAKARTA (JP): Four men, armed with knives and toy pistols,
broke into a house in Saung Gintung, Ciputat, Tangerang before
dawn on Saturday and robbed the owner, a surgeon at a private
hospital in West Jakarta.

Sucipto, 53, told police that the incident occurred at about 3
a.m. The victim as well as his teenage daughter were woken by a
noise as thieves were attempting to force open a window. When
they stepped out of their rooms to check out what was happening,
the robbers tied them up.

They took two televisions, two VCD players, two cellular
phones, jewelry and other valuables and Rp 14 million in cash.
The robbers escaped in a Toyota Kijang.

Other family members, as well as three servants slept soundly
throughout the robbery.
