Four killings over the weekend

JAKARTA (JP): A man died after being stabbed on Jl. Kelapa
Gading, North Jakarta, police reported.

A police source in Tanjung Priok said that the victim,
identified as Sumarno, 52, was stabbed in the stomach on
Wednesday. The victim died on Saturday morning after three days
of being hospitalized at the Cipto Mangunkusumo general hospital.

The motive for the killing was still unknown but police assume
it was revenge. The perpetrator is still at large, police said.

According to Tini, the victim's sister, Sumarno was hailed by
an unidentified person while he was riding his motorcycle.
Without saying a word, the stranger was reported to have stabbed
Sumarno and run away.

Meanwhile, Cilincing police precinct reported that a youth,
Darto, was fatally stabbed in a brawl in Cilincing, also in North
Jakarta, on Friday night.

In apparently unrelated incidents, two unidentified men were
found dead during the weekend. One was found floating in the
Ciliwung river with his hands and legs tied, Gambir police
precinct reported. Another man was found dead behind the building
of PT Sumur Bross in Pademangan, North Jakarta, local police
reported.

Police said bruises on the body and blood in one of the ears
indicated that the victim had been beaten to death with a blunt
object.

The unidentified victim was fair-skinned, about 160
centimeters tall and had short curly hair. The man was wearing
blue jeans, which were torn at the knee, and a plain white T-
shirt. (01)
