Four killed over inheritance
CILACAP, Central Java: Enraged with what he saw as unfair
distribution of an inheritance, Ras, 25, allegedly slashed to
death four of his relatives and seriously injured three others.
Ras reportedly killed Matsolikin, his elder brother, two
nephews and his own daughter on Wednesday; the victims were all
asleep when Ras attacked them.
With a scythe, Ras also allegedly wounded his sister-in-law,
Parti Matsolikin, his mother Mrs. Dakiyem, and Sanmochtar Salim,
his uncle.
Antara reported that the tragedy began when Ras came to his
mother's house demanding a bigger share of an inheritance.
Dakiyem refused because Ras had already used his portion to buy a
motorcycle.
Neighbors captured Ras after one of the injured victims
shouted for help.
Local police chief Lt. Col. MA Wijaya said Ras is in police
custody for questioning. (swe)
