Four killed in traffic mishap

SURABAYA: Four people were killed and five others seriously
injured in a head-on collision involving two buses in Lumajang,
East Java on Tuesday, a press report said yesterday.

All but one of those killed have been identified, Antara
reported.

An eyewitness said that the driver of the mini bus, who was
driving at high speeds, lost control of the vehicle when it tried
to avoid a pedestrian crossing the street. The vehicle jumped the
median lane and hit another bus, which came from the opposite
direction.

The driver of the mini bus, his assistant and two passengers
died. Other passengers aboard the vehicle were injured.(sim)
