Four Key Facts in Sutrimo Death Case After Family Speaks Out
The family has finally spoken out regarding the death of Sutrimo, the household manager for former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. The family has reported Sutrimo’s death to the police.
The family’s report was filed with the Banyumas Police and is recorded under number STTLP/79/VIII/2026/SPKT/POLRESTA BANYUMAS/POLDA JAWA TENGAH. The family seeks legal certainty amid various conflicting reports circulating about Sutrimo’s death.
“In principle, the family only wants legal certainty regarding the death of Sutrimo. Whether it is considered natural or not, that is all,” said the family’s lawyer, Aan Rohaeni.
Sutrimo was found dead in front of the Mordent clinic in South Jakarta on Thursday, 23 July. To date, Polda Metro Jaya investigators have gathered statements and conducted clarifications with the family, the ambulance driver, hospital staff, and other parties aware of the incident. Police have also examined the victim’s medical records, the ambulance booking history, and the location where the deceased was initially found. At the time of death, the victim was found with foam at the mouth.
Here are several known facts:
- Conflicting Information Emerges
Aan stated that the family initially accepted Sutrimo’s death. However, various pieces of information later emerged that were deemed contradictory, prompting the family to seek certainty regarding the cause of death of the man from Wlahar Village, Banyumas Regency. “Because the news is conflicting here and there, disturbing the surrounding environment for the family and also the community in Wlahar Village. So the family wants certainty,” he said.
- Police to Conduct Exhumation
The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, revealed that Sutrimo’s death had been reported to the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police. The report stated that Sutrimo died under unnatural circumstances. “Indeed, yesterday we received information from the complainant or members of the public reporting to Bareskrim Polri regarding the death of Mr S, which is considered unnatural,” Budi told reporters. Budi said the complainant requested investigators to carry out an exhumation. The police will expedite the exhumation of the victim’s body. “It will be expedited to determine the cause of death,” Budi stated. Exhumation is the process of digging up or removing a body from its grave by the authorities.
- Police to Examine Doctor
Budi mentioned that the police will first examine the doctor from S Muhamadiyah Taman Puring who initially handled Sutrimo’s body next week. Budi explained this is a re-summons because the doctor was previously absent from the examination. “So the police investigation is expected to carry out an exhumation. We will convey the details regarding the report in stages,” he said. “Next week we will still summon the doctor from Muhammadiyah Hospital who first handled the patient upon arrival at the hospital,” he added. Budi revealed the summons of the hospital doctor is to investigate reports that Sutrimo died with foam at the mouth, as per circulating information. Budi said there are several photos and videos that went viral related to Sutrimo’s death, but their veracity must be further examined by investigators.
- Police Investigate Identity of Kejaksaan Employee Febrio
Kejaksaan Agung administrative staff member Febrio Adiono was reportedly one of the people who transported Sutrimo’s body. Police will investigate Febrio’s identity. “This will be investigated further (whether or not Febrio is a Kejaksaan Agung employee),” Budi explained. Separately, the Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stated on Friday, 7 August, that Febrio is an administrative staff member at his office. “The person named Febrio, as far as we know, is indeed a Kejaksaan employee, but not a prosecutor, a Kejaksaan employee,” Anang said when answering reporters’ questions regarding the figure of Febrio being an aide to former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. Anang then explained that Febrio was also an aide to former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. After Febrie became entangled in a money laundering case, Febrio now only serves as an administrative staff member. “He was his (Febrie’s) staff. Yes, (Febrie’s staff). (Currently) a regular staff member. No, (he is not assisting other Kejaksaan officials),” Anang said.
