Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has battered the Cibuntu Village area in Ciampea District, Bogor, West Java, over recent days, resulting in damage to four residents’ homes. M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), stated on Tuesday (7/7/2026) that the damage was caused by the severe weather and the already dilapidated condition of the houses. Adam explained that the damage ranged from minor to severe. A total of 17 people were affected. Two homes sustained minor damage, housing two families (10 people); one home suffered moderate damage, housing two people; and one home was severely damaged, housing five people. Adam confirmed there were no fatalities. The affected residents are still living in their damaged homes. The damage has not yet been repaired, although the homeowners have cleared the debris. Disaster response personnel have conducted an initial assessment at the scene. Further intervention from relevant agencies is required to prevent the damage from spreading.
