Four family members, including UGM student, found dead while camping in Central Java

Four family members were found dead while camping at a tourist site in Kledung, Temanggung Regency, Central Java. All four are Semarang residents. According to detikJateng on Thursday, 28 May 2026, the victims identified are Muhammad Ali Munawar (52), Maghfirah (43), Alvino Evan Hakim (16), and Bagas Amar Hakiki (21), from Panjang Village in Ambarawa Subdistrict. Muhammad Ali Munawar and Maghfirah are traders, while the other two are students. Bagas Amar Hakiki is a UGM French Literature student. ‘Yes, correct,’ said the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) UGM, Prof Setiadi. The family arrived at the tourist site on Tuesday, 26 May, around 10:00 PM WIB and were camping there. Site management discovered them dead on Wednesday, 27 May, afternoon. Preliminary investigations suggest the victims died from food poisoning they brought, with samples currently being tested by authorities.
