Four Defendants in August 2025 Incitement Case Acquitted

Jakarta – Four defendants in an alleged incitement case connected to the August 2025 demonstrations were acquitted by the Central Jakarta District Court on Friday, 6 March 2026. The panel of judges acquitted Delpedro Marhaen, Muzaffar Salim, Syahdan Husein, and Khariq Anhar of charges of incitement arising from posts on social media relating to the protests that ended in rioting.

Supporters visited the courthouse and showed their support for the defendants ahead of the verdict. During the hearing, the court concluded that the posts in question did not meet the legal threshold for incitement under applicable Indonesian law. The ruling marks the end of the case for these four individuals on the charges of instigation through social media content connected to the August 2025 protests.
