Four Defendants in Acid Attack Case Were Not at Fairmont Hotel During Andrie Yunus's Interruption of TNI Bill Meeting
Jakarta - The Commander of the Headquarters Detachment (Dandenma) of TNI BAIS, Colonel Infantry Heri Heryadi, has confirmed that the four defendants in the acid attack case were not at the Fairmont Hotel in Central Jakarta when KontraS activist Andrie Yunus interrupted the meeting on the TNI Bill in March 2025.
This was revealed during a trial at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, with the agenda of examining witnesses, on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
In the hearing, Heri Heryadi appeared as a fact witness summoned by the Military Prosecutor II-07 Jakarta.
“Dandenma, were those four (defendants) on duty at the Fairmont at that time?” asked the Chief Judge of the Panel, Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto.
“Yes, they were not there,” replied Heri.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of D-31 Pampers Dit B BAIS TNI, Lieutenant Colonel Chk Alwi Hakim Nasution, stated that there was no specific order related to the acid attack on Andrie.
“What is their business with Andrie Yunus? What is their business with the TNI Bill? What is their business with the judicial review application to the Constitutional Court? What is the correlation for them to do that? They are just Denma soldiers, right?” asked Chief Judge Fredy Ferdian.
“Permission. They admitted to us that they were hurt by the way Andrie Yunus forced his way into the closed meeting, so the defendants felt offended,” replied Alwi.
The judge then asked if there was any specific order behind the action.
“There was none, Your Honour,” replied Alwi.
Previously, four Indonesian National Army (TNI) personnel were charged with throwing acid at the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus, in Central Jakarta.
The four defendants are Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and First Lieutenant Sami Lakka.
The motive for the defendants’ acid attack was that they were offended by Andrie Yunus’s interruption during the TNI Bill meeting at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta on 16 March 2025.
“The defendants considered that Andrie Yunus had insulted the TNI institution and even trampled on the TNI institution,” said Military Prosecutor Lieutenant Colonel Corps Hukum (Chk) TNI Muhammad Iswadi during the trial at Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday.
