Four Dead at Wedding Ceremony Following US Attack in Iran

The number of fatalities resulting from US attacks hitting a wedding ceremony in Iran has increased to four, according to local media on Tuesday (1/9).

Previous media reports indicated that two people had died in the incident. The Mehr News Agency, Iran’s official government news agency, reported that the death toll has now risen to four, while 5-0 others have been injured due to US attacks across various regions in Iran.

Hossein Kermanpour, a spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Health, stated that 50 people, including children, were injured by the US attacks. “A number of citizens, including one child, died in Kuhestak village, where the wedding ceremony was targeted by US attacks. Up to 50 citizens have sustained injuries,” Kermanpour stated on the X platform on Tuesday (1/9).

He also accused the US of violating the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which he claimed was signed at the highest level by President Donald Trump. The Iranian President also expressed his belief that efforts to confront US sanctions would yield results in the future.

On 18 June 2026, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding intended to guarantee the end of military conflict. Pezeshkian accused Washington of failing to uphold the established agreement.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported casualties resulting from US attacks on Larak Island. Meanwhile, CENTCOM claimed the precision strikes were intended to prevent the deployment of mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
