Four days before Eid, Soekarno-Hatta Airport records 169,000 passenger movements
Tangerang — PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, recorded 169,843 aircraft passenger movements at the airport on H-4 (four days before) the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
Assistant Deputy for Communication & Legal at PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Yudistiawan, stated in Tangerang on Tuesday that based on daily report data, 169,843 passengers transited through Soetta Airport during the 2026 Eid holiday travel period.
“Of the total movements, domestic passenger traffic dominated with a total of 128,452 people, whilst international accounted for 41,391 people,” he said.
Yudistiawan stated that the passenger movement figures during the Eid holiday travel period at Soetta Airport experienced an increase compared with the previous day, Monday (16 March).
“Yesterday (Monday, 16 March), the data showed approximately 167,602 passengers, and today there has been a slight increase with a total of 169,843 passengers,” he said.
He stated that these figures would continue to increase, particularly at the peak of the 2026 Eid homecoming rush, which is predicted to occur on Wednesday (18 March).
“Tomorrow is predicted to be the peak with approximately 187,202 passengers and 1,193 flights for both domestic and international services, departures and arrivals,” he said.
He stated that in anticipation of long queues, the airport has also urged prospective passengers to arrive earlier than their departure times.
“In anticipation of delays or long queues, we also urge prospective passengers to reconfirm their departure schedules and the terminals they will use to avoid terminal mix-ups. Passengers are also advised to arrive at least three hours early to anticipate congestion at the airport,” he said.
