Investigators have discovered four crime scenes in the case of assault and confinement perpetrated by suspect Taufik Hidayat (30) against YTR (29).

The Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, stated that the investigation is currently conducting a series of pre-reconstructions before holding a full reconstruction of the case.

“Regarding the development of this case, we have conducted one pre-reconstruction at one of the crime scenes. There are four crime scenes that we can report, which we will check first, and then a pre-reconstruction will be carried out. Naturally, this pre-reconstruction is internal, and once complete, we will involve relevant stakeholders for the reconstruction,” said Hendra, when met in the Cikapayang area, Dago, Bandung City, on Sunday (28/6).

Hendra added that investigators have not yet received the results of the psychological examinations conducted on both the victim and the suspect.

“The psychological and psychiatric examinations for both the suspect and the victim are still ongoing, and we are awaiting the results,” he said.

Regarding the allegations of sexual violence experienced by YTR, Hendra revealed that the police cannot yet reach a conclusion as the investigation is still deep into the matter.

“The possibility of sexual violence cannot be ruled out. We are still investigating, and the team remains professional, cautious, and follows existing regulations,” he stated.

Taufik Hidayat has been arrested and named a suspect in the case of the confinement and assault of YTR (29). He remained largely silent when presented during a press conference held by the West Java Regional Police on Friday (26/6). Wearing red detainee clothing, Taufik sat with his head bowed before the media. He expressed regret and apologised for his actions toward YTR, stating briefly, “I regret it, I apologise.”

Following the statement, he remained silent and did not answer questions from journalists before being escorted back to his cell by officers.

The West Java Regional Police Chief, Irjen Pol Rudi Setiawan, stated that the meeting between Taufik and YTR occurred in mid-2024. Following their introduction, the two lived together in various boarding houses. Rudi noted that during their time living together, YTR frequently endured violence from Taufik across four different locations.

The violence included YTR being punched in the body, and even being burnt with cigarettes when Taufik was angry. These incidents occurred while they resided in a rented house in the Cicaheum area in 2024.

YTR faced further violence from late 2024 until early 2025 in a different boarding house within the same area, where he was punched in the left eye with a bare fist, resulting in blurred vision.

From early 2025 until late 2025, the pair lived in a boarding house in Cilengkrang, Bandung Regency. In that location, YTR was struck in the right eye with a helmet, causing loss of sight, and his knee was slashed with a sharp object, making it difficult for him to walk.

Subsequently, from January 2026 to June 2026, YTR was subjected to further brutality by Taufik in a boarding house in the Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency. In this location, YTR’s head was struck with a helmet and hard objects such as iron, and his mouth was slashed with a sharp object, resulting in a gaping wound on his lip.

Police have applied multiple charges against Taufik, including Article 466 Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code, Article 451 of the Criminal Code, Article 446 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 126 Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code, and Article 23 of the Criminal Code (Recidivism). The potential prison sentence exceeds five years.

“According to the suspect, the motive was jealousy and a feeling of betrayal. Meanwhile, the victim stated that whenever there were issues with customers regarding work, the victim became the target of his frustration,” said Rudi.
