Four athletes join SEA Games
SEMARANG (JP): The Indonesian Amateur Athletics Association (PASI) called on four Central Java-based athletes to take part in the national training program for the Kuala Lumpur 2001 SEA Games, an official revealed on Friday.
"The athletes have started their programs earlier this month. All of them have considerable national achievements. I'm sure they can compete in international events," a coach of PASI's Central Java chapter, Bambang Siswoyo told reporters.
"This means our athletes are still taken into consideration. I hope they will perform the best," he added.
The four athletes are Sutrisno (walking race), Darminah (discus throwing), Ferry Junaidi (5,000m and 10,000m), and Sih Harnawati (100m and 200m).
There are also two athletes joining the preliminary training session, Ade Jari (shotput) and Dwi Ratnawati (discus). (har)
