Four arrested over marijuana
JAKARTA (JP): Jakarta Police seized 465 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves, worth about Rp 1 billion (US$94,000), from four suspected drug dealers in two separate raids, both in Bekasi, West Java, on Friday afternoon.
Jakarta Police narcotics chief of detectives Comr. Mangatas Tambunan identified the main suspects as Krisno al Hamdani, 28, and his wife, Juleha, 25, who were arrested at Villa Citra housing complex in Cibitung with 450 kilograms of marijuana in their possession.
The house was raided at about 4 p.m.
Mangatas identified the remaining suspects as Ismaniar, 24, and Armia, 25, who were arrested earlier on Friday at about 12 noon, at their rented home on Jl. Setia Dharma in Tambun, East Bekasi, with 15 kilograms of marijuana in their possession.
"The two men led us to the husband and wife dealers. We are still developing this case," Mangatas said.
He added that the arrest of Ismaniar and Armia was made upon reports provided by members of the general public.
Police said they were still searching for one more alleged drug dealer, believed to be an Acehnese, named Zulfikar.
"Zulfikar allegedly supplied the drugs to these suspects," Mangatas said. (ylt)
