Four Arrested in West Jakarta Joint Police Raid for Hard Drug Possession
A joint patrol and police raid involving the three pillars was conducted on Saturday night (23 May 2026). The operation was led by West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi and involved a combined force of 131 personnel from the military, police, and local government. The operation was divided into two security patterns: area patrols and police raids targeting specific locations and high-risk times for criminal activity and street crime. Patrols ran from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM WIB, covering high-risk areas for riots, muggings, motorcycle thefts, drug abuse, and other public order disturbances across West Jakarta. “During the police raid in Latumenten Street, officers apprehended four individuals identified as MM (30), MA (18), AM (22), and BS (20), along with two tramadol pills and three hexymer tablets as evidence,” said Kombes Twedi in his statement on Sunday (24 May). They were taken to West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters for further questioning. Kombes Twedi stated that the patrols and raids were conducted as a preventive measure to ensure public safety and comfort, particularly during the weekend when security disturbances are more likely. “This operation was carried out to anticipate various criminal acts such as muggings, street crimes, motorcycle thefts, drug abuse, and riots, ensuring the public feels safe and comfortable during their activities and rest periods,” he added. During the operation, the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief also inspected several monitoring posts, including:
Palmerah Police Station Monitoring Post
Tamansari Metropolitan Police Station Monitoring Post
Tambora Police Station Monitoring Post
Grogol Petamburan Police Station Monitoring Post
Grogol Petamburan Police Station Fixed Checkpoint
West Jakarta Metropolitan Police also urged the public to actively participate in maintaining community security and report any potential public order disturbances immediately via the 24-hour police hotline 110.
