Jakarta, VIVA — Four unidentified individuals, believed to have been intoxicated, attacked staff and patrons at a coffee shop in the Kemang area of South Jakarta.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning at approximately 04:30 local time. The account was provided by one of the victims, identified as Anggun.

“We were assaulted by unknown individuals,” Anggun told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

She revealed that the perpetrators were allegedly drunk and went on an indiscriminate rampage, resulting in numerous victims.

She and her companions were among those caught up in the violent episode. Those present at the scene sustained severe bruising and injuries to their bodies, heads and legs, with some suffering bleeding wounds.

“We were among the victims of the beatings,” she said.

In addition to the physical assaults, the perpetrators also vandalised facilities within the coffee shop.

Following the attack and assaults, the victims filed a report with the South Jakarta Metro Police, submitting a number of pieces of evidence including medical examination results.

“We have filed a report and there is medical evidence so that this can be followed up promptly and the perpetrators can be swiftly apprehended and face justice,” she said.
