Four airports provide Mecca Route facilities for 2026 Hajj

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) states that four airports under its management have been equipped with Mecca Route facilities from Saudi Arabia’s immigration service for prospective Hajj pilgrims in 2026. In a statement received in Tangerang on Sunday, InJourney Airports’ CEO Mohammad R. Pahlevi said the four airports fitted with Mecca Route are Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Juanda Airport, and Adi Soemarmo Airport. “Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar is the first to have Mecca Route, which is a Saudi immigration service. InJourney Airports fully supports this facility by providing the necessary infrastructure for Mecca Route,” he explained. He elaborated that Mecca Route is a Saudi immigration facility where passport checks are conducted earlier at the departure embarkation airport in Indonesia, thereby facilitating Hajj pilgrims upon arrival at Jeddah or Madinah airports. “At the four airports with Mecca Route, pre-departure security checks are conducted at the Hajj dormitories,” he said. Furthermore, the company has ensured the readiness of services at 19 departure airports for 205,333 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia to the Holy Land, starting on 22 April 2026. “Airport operational readiness, including facilities and personnel, is in place to ensure the movement of aircraft and Hajj pilgrims at all Hajj embarkation and inter-Hajj airports, with ongoing coordination with all relevant parties,” he stated. He added that all Hajj embarkation and Hajj airports are confirmed ready to serve pilgrim departures. All air infrastructure such as runways, taxiways, and aprons is prepared to support operations of wide-body aircraft like the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 for Hajj flights.
