Founder of Islamic Boarding School in Pati Rapes Female Student, PKB Demands No Room for Forgiveness
We request the National Police Headquarters to handle the sexual crime case committed by a shaman disguised as a kiai in Pati. This is important so that the legal process runs quickly, without favouritism, and meets the expectations of the wider community,” said Marwan to reporters on Friday (8/5/2026).
Marwan stated that the perpetrator AS manipulated the victims with the embellishment of prophetic descent. He said such practices cannot be tolerated.
“The perpetrator used religious embellishments to commit sexual crimes; this is a layered crime that cannot be tolerated,” Marwan said.
This legislator from Pati added that the perpetrator’s religious knowledge capacity is highly doubted by local residents. The perpetrator’s actions are deemed to have tarnished the good name of pesantren institutions, the honour of kiais, and educators in general.
“The information we received indicates that the perpetrator is even said to be unable to recite the Quran. His actions not only destroy the future of our youth but also damage the image of pesantrens and kiais, which have long been pillars of national character education,” Marwan emphasised.
Marwan highlighted a systematic intimidation pattern where the teenage victims were threatened with expulsion from the boarding school if they refused the perpetrator’s wishes. Marwan urged that the legal process be completed immediately to the P21 stage (complete) for submission to the court.
He also urged the authorities not to provide any room for forgiveness to AS.
“This crime must not have any room for forgiveness. The perpetrator must be given heavy punishment for the sexual crimes, fraud, and exploitation of the faithful. We also demand ongoing trauma counselling for the female students to restore their psychological condition,” he concluded.
