The case of the siblings found in an empty house in Banyuasin, South Sumatra, has entered a new chapter. Police have arrested two perpetrators of the murders of the siblings, Reni and Ayuhan.

Both victims are believed to have suffered sexual violence before finally being killed. Police are still questioning the two perpetrators to fully uncover the sequence of events and the motive behind the murders.

The two suspects taken into custody are Rendi Saputra (28), a resident of Kenten Laut, Banyuasin, and Andika, a resident of Talang Kelapa, Banyuasin.

“From the preliminary examination, before the two victims were killed, the perpetrators first committed rape against both victims,” said Banyuasin Police Chief AKBP Risnan Aldino, as reported by detikSumbagsel on Monday (7/9/2026).

Risnan revealed that the perpetrators were apprehended approximately three hours after the victims’ skeletons were found.

“The two perpetrators were arrested at two different locations on Sunday (6/9/2026). One of the perpetrators was even subjected to firm measures because he attempted to resist officers when about to be apprehended,” he said.

At present, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banyuasin Police Resort are still questioning the two perpetrators. The examination is being carried out to reveal the motive and to establish comprehensively the events that befell the two victims before they were found in a skeletal condition.
