On behalf of the residents of the Mertilang area, sector 9, Bintaro Jaya, allow me to write about a complaint which is yet to get any attention from the management of PT Jaya Real Property, the developer responsible for the Bintaro Jaya housing compound.
In the past three weeks, all Mertilang residents, made up of about 255 families, have had difficulty getting clean water. Usually it is PT Jaya Real Property itself that supplies the water. Some residents had access to some water but unfortunately it was dark in color and the sedimentation level was too high. Worse still, although a filter had been used, some residents suffered skin irritation after using the water.
Obviously we have been cheated by the developer, especially with regards to public facilities such as the roads which are covered with potholes, street lamps which have no electricity connection and partition walls which almost collapse. We wrote a letter of complaint to the developer on June 22 but unfortunately the complaint has not been attended to.
Therefore, we are now insisting that the management of PT Jaya Real Property respond to our complaints to ensure that the motto of the housing compound: A Comfortable Life in Fresh Surroundings" will become a reality and not mere lip service.
It is strange that while the Law on Consumers' Protection has been enforced, the service of PT Jaya Real Proper is decreasing in quality.
