"Foufo" cast member makes acting debut at age 63

An interesting story lies behind the production of the feature film “Foufo”, scheduled for release in cinemas across Indonesia on 9 July 2026. One of its main cast members, Siti Kam, a woman from Pamekasan, began her acting debut in the film world at the age of 63. “I am proud, I am very grateful to Mas Bayu (Director Bayu Skak) because I was also selected,” Siti Kam said during a press conference in the Senayan area of Jakarta on Wednesday, recounting her experience of involvement in the Skak Studios project. Siti Kam joined the production after undergoing a verification process conducted directly by director Bayu Skak. According to Bayu, Siti Kam’s presence in “Foufo” perfected the family drama element that forms the core of the story. Bayu said that during filming, Siti Kam consistently demonstrated her skill at crying on camera. She was able to blend with the other cast members and showed total commitment when acting opposite Tretan Muslim, the film’s lead actor. Bayu hopes Siti Kam’s success in breaking into feature films at an older age can inspire people across Indonesia not to hesitate in seizing opportunities to create work domestically, which are available if one has adequate competence.
