Fostering Unity, the Ministry of Home Affairs Holds Iftar and Charitable Aid
The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) held a joint iftar gathering and religious lecture at the An-Nuur Mosque, the Ministry’s Central Office in Jakarta. The event, featuring speaker Ustaz Hilman Fauzi, was attended by all staff within the Ministry. In his address, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian urged all staff to be grateful for the blessings from God Almighty. In the holy month of Ramadan, staff are able to observe worship with devotion and in good health. They are also urged to engage in contemplation, self-reflection, and acts of kindness. He added that the Ministry plays a major role as a guiding body and supervisor of local governance. It also has important duties in accelerating reconstruction and rehabilitation after disasters in the Sumatra region and routinely coordinating local inflation control efforts. Such duties require strong coordination and solidarity among staff. I have only one wish for you all: may we in this holy Ramadan truly use this time to improve and introspect ourselves, Tito said in a written statement on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. If all staff carry out their duties with integrity, the Minister believes every task undertaken will be blessed. As the head of Kemendagri and also the National Border Management Agency (BNPP), he hopes that the staff and officials can strengthen their faith optimally, and he calls on all parties to use Ramadan as an opportunity to increase acts of charity and reward. And I pray that we all will receive blessings from Allah SWT in carrying out our duties, he concluded. During the event, the Minister and colleagues handed aid to orphans and to several needy staff. A solemn atmosphere prevailed as the Minister listened to the religious sermon delivered by Ustaz Hilman Fauzi.
