Fostering a Love for Railways: What KAI Daop 3 Cirebon is Doing
PT KAI (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 3 Cirebon presented KAI Schooliday 2026 at Cirebon Station on 11–12 July 2026. Carrying the theme ‘A Meaningful Holiday with KAI’, Cirebon Station was transformed for two days into a learning and play space featuring various activities for children and families. ‘KAI Schooliday is an annual agenda that is part of KAI’s commitment to providing child-friendly, inclusive services that are rich in educational value,’ said Daop 3 Cirebon Public Relations Manager, Muhibbuddin, on Sunday (12/7). Through this programme, KAI aims to provide a fun holiday experience while educating children to become more familiar with the world of railways. The programme is also expected to instil a love for railways from an early age while offering a different kind of holiday experience. Muhibbuddin explained that one of the main activities is the KAI Rail Academy, an exclusive programme that gives children the opportunity to experience being a station officer for a day. Participants are introduced to various professions at the station, from serving customers to trying out the ticket inspection process at the boarding area under the guidance of KAI staff. In addition, visitors can enjoy KAI Mini, which presents a variety of educational and entertainment activities, including parenting seminars, a railway-themed colouring competition, a storytelling corner, and dental health awareness sessions for children. Beyond the engaging activities, KAI Daop 3 Cirebon also ensures family comfort during travel by providing various child-friendly facilities at stations and on trains. These facilities include a Kid’s Zone, a lactation room, a children’s menu in the dining carriage, and support from Railway Police (Polsuska) personnel and customer service staff who are always on standby to assist customers. Amidst increased public mobility during the holiday season, KAI also reminds parents to always supervise their children, especially when on the platform or inside the train, to ensure mutual safety and comfort.
