Forwarding company adds facilities

JAKARTA: More warehousing facilities will be seen in Soewarna Business Park, as freight forwarding company PT Schenker Petrolog Utama began construction on an integrated warehousing system on Friday.

"The construction of the state-of-the-art facilities will cost us US$1.5 million," the president director of the Indonesia and Germany joint venture company, Moetaryanto, said in a press release made available to The Jakarta Post.

The construction is expected to finish in September 2006 to anticipate the increasing demand from both local and international businesses for a reliable logistics solution as the national economy saw good prospects, he added.

The facilities provided will include offices, temporary warehouses and storage facilities.

To date, SPU already has eight branch offices across the country. -- JP
