Fortune clarifies winner ad
In response to Mr. Ruly's letter concerning Garuda's "trip to
Hollywood" promo (The Jakarta Post, Dec. 16, 1994), on behalf of
Garuda Indonesia, Fortune Indonesia as promotion coordinator
explains the mix-up as follows:
* We promised to publish the winner's name in Kompas on Oct.
9, 1994. Unfortunately, our space allotment in the newspaper was
still uncertain or on the waiting list on that day. We then moved
the advertisement from Kompas to Suara Pembaruan on the promised
date (we have the proof copy).
* We were forced to do this to ensure the ad appeared on the
promised date. We acknowledge our mistake in not advising the
participants of this sudden change.
On Garuda Indonesia's behalf, we take this opportunity to
apologize to all participants for the inconvenience it has
caused. And hopefully this answers Mr. Ruly's queries.
