Formula Asia to resume tomorrow

JAKARTA (JP): British driver Piers Hunisett will turn up for the fifth and sixth legs of the Formula Asia auto racing championship tomorrow at the Sentul Circuit, West Java, with the chief goal of extending his lead in the competition.

The Lux Motorsports Asia team's ace is setting the pace in the drivers' championship standings with 62 points after four races in Malaysia and India. Hunisett's success has helped his team take the lead in the team championship, with 86 points. PT Ericsson Indonesia is the partner sponsor of the Lux Motorsports Asia.

Hunisett will again be facing major challenges from Marlboro Castrol PTM which fields the Indonesian driver Roy Haryanto and Indian Narain Karthikeyan. The Indian won the previous two races on his home soil and now trails the Briton by seven points.

A number of young drivers from Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong, look set to dominate the weekend's races. (yan)
