Forms of Actions That Hurt Allah SWT and Their Consequences for Mankind

The lowest and most despicable person is one who does evil to those who have been good to him, hurts those who have benefited him, and chooses to follow those who lead him to destruction. All rational people agree that such behaviour is a form of degradation, as the person denies kindness and is ungrateful for the blessings received. If such conduct is considered reprehensible in human relationships, what then if it occurs between a servant and his Creator? Allah SWT has created mankind, provided them with sustenance, met their needs, and bestowed upon them various blessings. Every good that a person receives comes from Allah, and every evil that is averted from them is also due to His protection. Yet, many people hurt their Lord through various acts of disobedience and defiance. Among the greatest forms of hurting Allah is associating partners with Him (shirk) and claiming that Allah has a child. Glory be to Allah above such claims. Despite mankind committing these grave sins, Allah remains patient with them. He does not withhold their sustenance nor hasten their punishment, even though they deserve it.
