The former Governor of West Java for the 2003-2008 period, Danny Setiawan, passed away on Saturday (19/09/2026). The deceased was laid to rest at the funeral home on Jalan Anggrek, Bandung City, and will be buried in the Purwakarta Regency area.

The news was announced by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyable, via his social media accounts. Dedi expressed his condolences, describing the late official as a good person who brought progress to West Java.

“We convey the sad news. Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun. Mr H Danny Setiawan, the former Governor of West Java, has left us all today, Saturday, 19 September 2026. May the deceased be accepted in his faith, have all his sins forgiven, and receive a noble place by the side of Allah SWT,” he said in Bandung City on Saturday.

Kang Dedi prayed for the strength and patience of the bereaved family. Dedi described the late official as a person of great kindness who contributed significantly to the advancement of West Java.

“I believe Mr Danny Setiawan was a person of goodness. Many works were created for the progress of West Java Province, both during his tenure as Regional Secretary and as Governor,” said Kang Dedi.
