Former UGM Student Body President Finds Tracking Device on Car After Gejayan Protest

Former president of the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Student Executive Board, Tiyo Ardianto, has reported finding a tracking device attached to a car he was using after participating in a demonstration with student groups and civil society in the Gejayan area of Sleman on Saturday (13/6/2026). The tracking device was discovered after Tiyo received a notification on his mobile phone indicating an unknown device was moving with him. Upon inspection, the device, identified as a PBX Finder, was found attached to the underside of the vehicle. “I only realised there was an important and urgent notification, that a tracking device called PBX Finder was found moving with me,” Tiyo said in a statement uploaded to his personal Instagram account. Tiyo explained that the car was not his own, but belonged to a relative and was borrowed for daily activities. He admitted to deliberately using the car because he had recently felt less safe when travelling. “Friends, as you can see, this is a tracking device called PBX Finder. I know about this because it appeared in my phone notification. Then we searched and found this tracking device under the vehicle,” he said. He stated he did not know who installed the tracking device. After finding the device, Tiyo immediately contacted several close associates to seek advice on what steps to take. “It was installed by someone unknown, but what is clear is that this is a very disgusting incident, which shows how disgusting the current ruling regime is,” he said.
