Former UGM Student Body Chairman Tiyo Responds After Being Reported for Allegedly Insulting President
Former Chairman of the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Student Executive Board (BEM) Tiyo Ardiyanto has been reported to the police over allegations of insulting President Prabowo Subianto. Tiyo stated he is ready to provide information if summoned. “If we are called by the police, we will come. If we are asked for information, we will give it,” he said when met at UGM, Sleman, on Thursday (25/6/2026). He noted that he has not yet received a summons. Tiyo believes the reports were made by parties seeking to demonstrate their loyalty to the president. “And I think this is being exploited by those who reported me. So I hope Mr. President appreciates them for showing their loyalty,” he added. Tiyo was reported by lawyer Firdaus Oiwobo and the Garda Prabowo Legal Aid Institute to the South Tangerang Police and the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) respectively.
